The StarInternet-related
service provider Macro Lynx Sdn Bhd has won the IDC Enterprise
Innovation Award 2010 for demonstrating innovation with country's first
green building, GTower.
Macro Lynx, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goldis Bhd, beat off top
corporations like CIMB, Maybank, Top Glove and the Employees Provident
Fund (EPF) to take the top prize.
"We have set a new standard and definition for commercial buildings
through innovative and unique ICT (information and communications
technology) integration into GTower's architecture and infrastructure,"
said its director Colin Ng.
"This award is very meaningful to Macro Lynx because it demonstrates
its capability to set up and manage an Internet Protocol-based backbone
on a single platform, working with multiple third-party vendors and
partners, in addition to marrying the latest green technologies into
building architecture."
IDC, a research and analysis company, assessed the winner on several
criteria, including scale of project, impact to business, novelty of
approach, end-to-end holistic information technology, and successful
rate of implementation
