Tuan Syed Ibrahim bin Syed Noh who was appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation effective 1 April 2023 is a dynamic leader with an impressive track record of activism and service.

 

As the Member of Parliament for Ledang, Johor since 2018, he has been a driving force for change, advocating for the rights of his constituents and working to create a better future for Malaysians.

 

A Malaccan born, Tuan Syed Ibrahim received his higher education in the United States of America from 1982 to 1988 in Master of Business Administration (MBA) from St. Louis University, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (BBA) from University of Wisconsin.

Ybhg. Datin Paduka Roslinah Binti Md Jani

Non-Independent Non-Executive Director

She was appointed to the Board of Directors of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) effective 1 November 2023.

 

Datin Paduka Roslinah binti Md Jani started her career in the public sector in 1996 when she assumed the role of Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MoF). She remained working in MoF for 16 years, serving in various offices and divisions.

A Malaccan born, Datin Paduka Roslinah earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia during a study break in 2006, demonstrating her commitment to enhancing her knowledge and skills.

 

She then took on a different role and served as the District Officer at the District and Land Office Sepang from 2014 to 2018, consolidating her experience in government administration and local governance.

Ybhg. Datu Dr Muhammad Abdullah Bin Zaidel

Independent Non-Executive Director

YBhg. Datu Dr Muhammad Abdullah bin Zaidel was appointed to the Board on August 6, 2020.

 

With his extensive experience from the finance sector and in business management, was able to accelerate Sarawak’s economy and take it to greater heights. He graduated from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) with a PhD in Finance and a Masters Degree for Business Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). Since 2019, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah is an alumni of Harvard Business School, Harvard University.

Ybhg. Prof Emeritus Dato’ Dr Halimah Badioze Zaman FASc

She was appointed onto the Board of Directors of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) effective 5 April 2019.

 

Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Halimah Badioze Zaman is currently Holder of the Tan Sri Leo Moggie Distinguished Chair in Energy Informatics at the Institute of Informatics and Computing in Energy Informatics (IICE), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). Prior to this she has served in various capacities and roles at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) for 39 years, which includes being one of the Founders of the Faculty of Information Science and Technology, founder of the ICT Niche at UKM and was the Founding Director of the first Centre of Excellence in Computer Science at UKM called Institute of Visual Informatics.

Ybhg. Datuk Mohamed Rozhan Bin Mohd Ghazalli

Independent Non-Executive Director

He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) effective 1 November 2023.

 

Having graduated as a postgraduate student in Business Administration from Ohio University in United States of America, Datuk Mohamed Rozhan bin Mohd Ghazalli started his career at Citibank NA in Kuala Lumpur in 1985.

 

He has held various positions in the bank, including roles in Small and Medium Size Division, Credit and Risk Management Division, Corporate Finance Division, and as a Vice President/Head of Public Sector Division.

 

He then joined BSN Merchant Bank, an investment bank, as a General Manager, Head of Credit, Banking and Treasury Operations from 1995 until 2000. Ybhg. Datuk Mohamed Rozhan is also an experienced entrepreneur who has served in various sectors of the economy, including the health and wellness industry, food sector, high security document protection business, manufacturing and packaging of labels and tags, over the last 22 years.

Encik Jamalulail Bin Abu Bakar

He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) effective 1 November 2023.

 

Encik Jamalulail bin Abu Bakar's journey in public service began in 1996 when he assumed the role of Assistant Secretary at the Resources Development Division at the then Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), now known as the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS). His commitment to public service and dedication to his work continued to grow as he progressed through various roles.

 

In 2005, he expanded his horizon from agriculture to higher education when he took on the role as First Secretary (Education and Training) in Embassy of Malaysia, Ireland, under the Training Division of Public Service Department (JPA) Malaysia. His career continued to flourish, and in 2008, he had risen to the position of Deputy Undersecretary, Policy Coordination Division at the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE). Between 2013 to 2016, he served as Deputy Head, Leadership Cluster in National Public Service Institute (INTAN) responsible in providing training to high level government officials.

 

In 2016, he assumed to the role of Director, Education Malaysia Division at Department of Higher Education. This division responsible for promoting and marketing Malaysia’s higher education programs to entice foreign students to further their studies in Malaysia.

Ybhg. Dato' Sri (Dr) Chee Hong Leong

He was appointed to the Board of Directors of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) effective 1 January 2024.

 

Dato’ Sri (Dr) Chee Hong Leong, JP, holds a distinguished career as a senior executive, director, and leader in the Malaysian and international business communities. Commencing his career in 1990, he played a pivotal role in coordinating corporate and annual strategic plans for Leisure Holidays Group and MBf Food Division.

 

From 1992 to 1998, Dato’ Sri (Dr) Chee was actively involved in various businesses, serving as CEO of Canary Homes Sdn Bhd and Canary Infoport Sdn Bhd in the design and property development sectors. Subsequently, he joined Tanco Resort Berhad, rising to the positions of General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, and Executive Director from 1998 to 2002.

 

In March 2003, Dato’ Sri (Dr) Chee joined SYF Resources Berhad, a furniture boards and property development firm, and later became the Executive Director in 2011 until now. The company underwent a reverse takeover exercise in June 2023, leading to its name change to M&A Equity Holdings Berhad, actively involved in financial services, particularly stockbroking and corporate finance.

 

Beyond his involvement in M&A Equity Holdings Berhad, Dato’ Sri (Dr) Chee has served in key roles in various companies – an Independent Non-Executive Director in 2021 at Microlink Solutions Bhd, an information technology solutions provider. He was then appointed as Executive Director and redesignated as Independent Non-Executive Director in 2023.
